The MT data were collected on 53 sites along the 228 km profile starts from Dardanelle ends in the middle of Gediz graben. Time series recorded up to 5000s. The model obtained through the 2D joint inversion of TE and TM mode MT data have been compared with known geological features. Generally, Western part of the North Anatolian Fault along the Biga Peninsula is identified. Current pattern of the volcanic activities in the area have been related with conductive parts in the model. Western flank of the Simav fault zone and conductive spot under the footwall may be related with some intrusions from mantle. Border of the Gördes Basin, which takes place between Izmir - Ankara suture zone and Menderes massif, and southern part of the Selendi basin have been defined. Location of source of volcanic units around Kula may be explained by existence of some conductive spot. Some seismological data presented here also support the proposed model. | ||
