The effective use of data is paramount to the success of any exploration or assessment project. The current “Data Experience” being the sharing and distribution of large volume data and results continues to be time consuming and inefficient process. The on-going development of useful Internet and Intranet protocols for computers to access and share geo-data, both privately within an organization, and globally on the Internet is key to our ability to use this information efficiently.

The approach presented here examines the use of data access protocols to move data from various data stores through a local Intranet or Global Internet into spatially aware interpretation workstation environments, GIS or thin Web clients.

In this poster presentation, we will describe the use of data access technology (DAP) to catalog, store and serve the North American Gridded 1 km Data into different client environments. We will show how the use of a single technology to support multiple data servers and workstations can improve the efficient use of and collaboration with magnetic and other high volume data.
