Kavajes, Sherbimi Gjeologjik Shqiptar, Tirana, Albania, kavajav@yahoo.com, (2) Geophysical Centre of Tirana, Albanian Geol Survey, Blloku Vasil Shanto, Qendra Gjeofizike, Tirane, Albania The areas under ivestigations occupy about 120 km2 and encompassing a large expanse of land at northern and southern part of Albania coast- line, respectively Velipoja and Butrint Lake region. The work presented here is the result of continued study about 3 last years and goes on in our days. The goal of this study is investigation of the link between the sedimentological evolution and hydrological system. The soundings data, particularly resistivity variation are the base for sedimentologic and lithological studies due to the lack of boreholes. In most cases we distinguished the deposits of the upper and lower flood plains of rivers. In addition to, V.E.S data results and resistivity maps point out histories of Quaternary formations, the features of sedimentologic environment distinguishing Pleistocene and Olocene deposits. For the gravel deposition, in addition to usual parameter maps as resistivity and thickness, combined multiparametric characterisations maps are plotted. Based on the data mentioned above plenty of geomorphic problems are resolved. The delineation of water-bearing coarse-grained sands and gravels of higher thickness and consistency, land-sea interaction are estimated.
