Center St, Cedar City, UT 84720, wilkidog@hotmail.com The Triassic age Rock Canyon Member is the discontinuous basal unit of the Moenkopi Formation in Washington County, Utah and Mohave County, Arizona. It is a discontinuous conglomeratic unit deposited unconformably into channels eroded into the Permian age Kaibab Limestone during the Permo-Triassic hiatus. The channel fill deposits consist of upward fining conglomerates composed of minimally rounded chert fragments. Crossbeds with as much as one meter amplitudes occur within the channels. Overbank deposits are much finer and significantly thinner.
