THOM, Amanda and LOHRENGEL, C. Frederick II, Department of Geosciences, Southern Utah University, 351 W. Center St, Cedar City, UT 84720, athom08@yahoo.com Paleontology of the Indian Springs and Bird Springs Formations in Arrow Canyon Global Stratotype Station and Point (GSSP), Arrow Canyon Range, Clark County, Nevada has been extensively studied for many years. In 2003 the trilobite Ditomopyge scitula (Meek and Worthen) was reported at level A59, approximately 88.5 meters above the base of the Indian Springs Formation (approximately 64 meters above the base of the Bird Springs Formation). In early 2006 a single loose specimen was found between A6 and A9 of the measured section. This find extends the stratigraphic range of this species downward 90 to 94.5 meters to 7.5 to 13.5 meters above the base of the Indian Springs Formation (56 meters to 50 meters below the base of the Bird Springs Formation). | ||
