The geological community is experiencing a considerable growth in the use of visualization technologies which is already demonstrating measurable benefits fo rthe professionals who use them. As confidence in these tools grows, it stands that some of them inherently find their way into use for public involvement. When this happens, it is important to understand the implications of their use, and to consider appropriate application thereof.

This paper/presentation will highlight issues to be aware of, and note some best practices for using visualization technologies for public involvment that should prove useful to the geological community.
