Upon graduation, students will find themselves faced with many decisions regarding their employment. Opportunities will include jobs in state and other governmental agencies, academic research, oil and gas exploration, etc. However, the majority of the graduates will be employed by environmental and engineering consultants. The purpose of this presentation is to provide insight into the various responsibilities and duties geologists typically encounter while employed as private consultants. The presentation will include discussions regarding the wide range of opportunities available to geologists and environmental scientists upon graduation. The discussion will also include strategies for consulting employees to increase their marketability and value as employees.
