MUNOZ, Nicole D., Geosciences Department, Hamilton College, 198 College Hill Road, Clinton, NY 13323, cdomack@hamilton.edu and DOMACK, Cynthia R., Geoscience Department, Hamilton College, 198 College Hill Road, Clinton, NY 13323 A teaching module was developed to portray the significance of eurypterids in the fossil record and as the New York State Fossil. Information and images for the module were gathered from journal articles, textbooks, and internet sources. The module consists of a PowerPoint presentation, a script to accompany the presentation, and a class handout to summarize the presentation. The module was designed to broaden the knowledge on eurypterids and to illustrate why they are the state fossil of New York. Although implemented in the Paleontology course at Hamilton College, the module is flexible and can be used at the pre-college level. | ||
