DABBS, Clyde Gilliard, Fort Myers Service Center, South Florida Water Mgnt District, 2301 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33912, cdabbsjr@sfwmd.gov

The South Florida Water Management District (District) is in the process of developing sub-regional surface water ground water models to support restoration efforts and the Southwest Florida study. This paper describes a part of the investigation of the Tidal Caloosahatchee Basin. Geologic cross-sections were prepared to incorporate data obtained from boreholes drilled since the last regional hydrogeologic investigation. The geologic cross-sections were used to revise the hydrogeologic layers incorporated in the model of the Tidal Caloosahatchee Basin.

Data used in this analysis were obtained from a variety of sources including private wells, Aquifer Storage and Recovery wells, and wells drilled in scientific investigations. This paper describes an automated process for cross-section preparation using commercially available software. The paper further documents the data preparation format required the process used and lessons learned in the process and recommendations for future users.
