GIS INTERNET SITES AND THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PHOTOGRAMMETRY

I will present useful Internet sites and applications for photogrammetry and how it relates to geological applications. Useful information from places such as NOAA, NASA, and various commercial software sites will be included in this presentation. I will also include a bit about LIDAR, GEOCOVER and ASTER type data and how it relates to various geological uses. I will also present new ideas , projects, presentations and posters that have been presented at various American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Conferences. There will be some mention of the various GIS Software packages available, some of the various applications of each software packages with explanations, and references made to each of their various Internet sites. Applications such as creating vector files and digitization of geological features will be brought up utilizing the various packages will be mentioned. Towards the last of this talk , the North China Precambrian Geology Project. will be mentioned that Dr. Kusky has been doing research for will be mentioned. The applications of photogrammetry and the GIS Software packages and how they apply to deciphering geological areas and areas of interest. will be discussed and explained. The talk will end with a short questioned and answer period.
