In continuation of the earlier reported (www.lwr.kth.se/Personal/personer/bhattacharya_prosun/ IGC2004_BWo-06_FLORENCE_presentations.htm) Arsenic removal system by desulfovibrio produced FeS system a commercial model was fabricated and tested continuously for four months. Data collected on the behaviour of the column, sludge disposal, environmental impact of sludge are presented in this paper. This system appears to be reliable in terms of removal of Arsenic to below 5 PPB. The discarded contents of the cartridge in the normal soil after a period of 2 weeks of weathering was found to immobilise the Arsenic completely as indicated by zero leachability. Four numbers of fabricated units are under field trials in Bihar(India).
