HILL, Wesley M., Education & Outreach, The Geological Society of America, 3300 Penrose Pl, Boulder, CO 80301, whill@geosociety.org

GeoCorps America is a GSA program that places students, professionals, and retirees on National Parks, National Forests, and BLM lands around the country to assist with summer geoscience projects. Land managers propose geoscience projects to GSA each year and GSA offers these summer positions to it's members. Projects are in paleontology, coastal geomorphology, geology, soils, mapping, research, monitoring, hydrogeology, hazard assesments, GIS, minerals, education....as well as other disciplines. GSA posts the positions on it's website each Feb for application.

GSA strives to assist National Parks, National Forests, and BLM lands with their geoscience programs and offer summer positions to it's members. GSA plans to offer 20 summer positions on National Parks in 2008. Plus additional positions on National Forests and BLM lands.
