HIGH RESOLUTION FLOWETER LOGGING PART 2; APPLICATIONS AND SUGGESTED PRACTICE
Case History 1 is the application of common spinner flowmeter combined with a discrete fluid sampler in a high production water supply well. Goal of the survey was to characterize the distribution of arsenic in the well and identify remediation alternatives. Dynamic Spinner Flow logs are collected under ambient and pumping conditions. Discrete fluid samples are collected and combined with the flow calculations and the mass balance equation for determination of interval fluid quality.
Case History 2 is the application of high-resolution Heatpulse flowmeter at an environmental site in fractured rocks. Single well ambient and pumping flow surveys are preformed. Transmissivity is calculated using USGS modeling code, and then one well is pumped while flow logging occurs in an adjacent well to determine flow connection between wells.
Case History 3 is the application of a Heatpulse flowmeter during pumping tests looking at the flow transients at individual producing zones.
