Because of geographical features of Gangwon-do, it is unavoidable to have large and small cut-slopes in the social infrastructure such as road, railroad, etc. to be built, and therefore most of them are formed of mountainous roads. Recent unusual weather results in lots of bodily injury and property damage. Under this situation, such a number of cut-slope scattered throughout Gangwon-do are relatively vulnerable in such damage, and consequently the study on the reduction of such damage is desperately needed. This Study is intended to examine the current status of cut-slope and improve the problem in the risk evaluation through statistical analysis and observation of the characteristic of typical cut-slope distributed within Gangwon-do, and develop the method of quantitative and objective survey and evaluation technique for slope risk, and thereby apply them in efficient maintenance in future.
