ASBESTOS AND HEALTH ISSUES

Asbestos is a common name for a hazard that many people, geologists as well as lay people have heard and read about in the media. Mineralogists who have worked in this feild for decades are now trying desparately to provide accurate information to all on the many sides of this issue. I feel we must also educate on this matter especially in view of Federal regulatory issues and the present congressional activities in, for instance, California. The presentation will allow not only delineating salient points on these natural materiala but help to illuminate and educate listeners. I hope to receive contructive suggestions from the audience on this and other health iissues, important to GEOLOGISTS AND SCIENTIFIC EDUCATION IN GENERAL.
