THE KARST RESEARCH GROUP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA
The University of South Florida Karst Research Group brings together faculty and students interested in karst systems. The group, consisting of approximately one dozen faculty members and two dozen students is unique in that it is interdisciplinary across the several departments including the Departments of Geography, Geology, Biology, and Anthropology. Students and faculty work together on a variety of joint research projects and educational initiatives. The group has produced dozens of dissertations, theses, research articles, and reports and is also active with service activities, community outreach, and informal education. With a distinct international focus, there are many opportunities for faculty and students to travel and experience karst around the world. Major research themes of the group include climate change, karst geomorphology, karst hydrology, speleology, cave minerals, and karst policy.
