In 1988, Howard Wilshire and others published a review paper (USGS Professional Paper 1433) on the occurrence and characteristics of United States xenolith localities. This reference has been a benchmark ever since, providing data on the evolution of the North American lithosphere. Since that time, however, a number of studies have been published on these localities. In addition, digital mapping techniques and electronic sharing of journal articles have revolutionized scientific research. Our current project is to build an excel spreadsheet with the locations and principal references for the xenolith localities of the United States and Mexico. The localities will be within a GMT reference frame and PDF’s of the articles will be available through public access internet sites.
