PHASE I/II ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENTS (ESAS)

Phase I/II ESAs are typically completed by entry to mid-level personnel, with oversight by senior personnel. This presentation describes environmental research methods and procedures employed to be in compliance with ASTM Standard 1527 and 1528. The presentation will also present various subsurface investigation methods (Phase II ESAs under ASTM E1903) which are used if a recognized environmental condition is identified. In addition, the presentation will review case studies illustrating the Phase I ESA process. The presentation will also provide input on a typical environmental career path after gaining skills completing Phase I/II ESAs, and discuss various certifications held by environmental professionals.
