This paper presents an analytical model for describing tidal responses in a two-dimensional aquifer system bounded by an estuary which intersects with the coastline boundaries with an angle greater or less 90 degree. The solution of the model is developed based on the moving boundary, perturbation method, and Green’s function method. The solutions of Li et al. (2000, A two-dimensional analytical solution of groundwater responses to tidal loading in an estuary and ocean, Advances in Water Resources, 23, 825-833) can be shown to be a special cases of the present solution when the intersection angle is 90 degree. Based on this solution, the groundwater head distribution with various angles in the two-dimensional coastal estuary aquifer system can be clearly explored.
