Summer 2012 marks the beginning of a new 5-year project at Palaikastro. During our three weeks work (June 15th to July 5th), we contributed to the project by using magnetometry and ground-penetrating radar in putative palace area and wider town identified by the archaeologists. Noticeable magnetic anomalies suggesting subsurface remains in part of the surveyed areas have been identified. Our broader objective is to produce non-invasive images of the subsurface by combining results from both techniques and help the archeologists to locate their excavation proposed for 2013.
