GEOLOGICAL MINING POTENTIAL OF YECORATO PROJECT, CHOIX, SINALOA
The Yecorato project is located in northwestern Mexico, situated on the occident limit of gold-silver belt of the Sierra Madre Occidental (Sierra Madre Occidental Gold-Silver Belt). Geologically, are recognized marine vulcanosedimentaries rocks, which are affected by intrusive mainly by diorites and andesitic porphyry sulphide, which created disseminated mineralization in the contact zones. Strong dynamic deformation has generated thrust and reverse faulting and shear zones, where metamorphic quartz structures with high contents of Au were formed. Within the project four prospects have been recognized related to these zones of deformation. The veins show paths in different directions, producing a pattern of veinlets in form "stockwork", this seems to be more consistent when the strike vein NE El Creston intersect with the strike veins NW the El Fusi and Portezuelo. The increase in placer gold terraces, close to this area, confirms the enrichment of gold in this area of interlocking veinlets. The potential of the project is of great interest given the geological mining conditions together, derived that the exploitation of the mineralized zones has been led in the quartz veins with high values of gold and the placer that abound in the region, leaving side-type structures "stockwork", which are ideal to form mineral deposits of high-volume and low grade, in addition to that so far there have been no activities in order to locate the source that created the existing placer. It has also disseminated mineralization in the contact zones of diorite and andesite, andesite-tuff, where have been reported interesting values of gold.
