Peat and soil cores were collected from the S2 watershed in the Marcell Experimental Forest in northeastern Minnesota to examine the distribution and mobility of trace metals, mecury, and methylmercury within the peatland and from the upland to the peatland margin. The cores were sectioned, dried and analyzed for trace metals, mercury, and methylmercury on an ICP-MS. Organic carbon content and loss on ignition characteristics were also determined.
