CERUTTI, Joe, Mass. Dept. of Environmental Protection, 1 Winter Street, 5th Fl, Boston, MA 02108, joseph.cerutti@state.ma.us

As the number of ground source heat pump installations throughout New England dramatically increased over the past decade, each individual state has developed regulations and/or guidelines to ensure that public health and the environment are protected. This presentation will provide an overview of the requirements in the New England states regarding permitting, well construction standards, allowable well additives, water quality testing, and setback distances.
