Geologic mapping over the past 35 years, by ourselves and others, has been compiled into one map presented here in two parts. The geologic map covers the entire Blue Ridge and much of the Piedmont in Georgia. mapping used in the compilation is mostly detailed and/or detailed reconnaissance, where detailed means all roads, all major streams, and most contacts are walked, and detailed reconnaissance means all roads and some major streams were walked
