There have been Pleistocene fossils reported from some sites in Texas. A new locality designated as the Lilly MacArthur Gregory field site, located in Crosby County, Texas has yielded both vertebrate and invertebrate fossils. This paper is concerned primarily with undergraduate and graduate research projects based on the taxonomic description of Pleistocene material and the interpretation of the paleoenvironment of this new site. Taxonomically identified fossils include teeth of Equus sp., skeletal remains of a juvenile Mammuthus columbi, and the freshwater mollusk, Uniomerus tetralasmus. Other fossils include a carnivore tooth and freshwater gastropods and pea clams. All the fossil material was collected from late Pleistocene soils, consisting of at least seven sediment horizons. The fragmentary nature of the fossils and taxonomic assemblage suggest a freshwater, wetlands environment.
