DOMENECH, Julia A., Earth and Atmospheric Science, Mississippi State University, 301-I Hilbun Hall, Mississippi State, MS 39762, jad489@msstate.edu

Presently, scientific communities are confronting Earth’s foremost environmental issues using best management practices. Fostering connections concerning the human-ecosystem relationship can support a social transformation involving the growth in novel Geoscience knowledge and an eco-literate society. A community’s cognitive awareness of their situational factors and their social vulnerabilities may also lead to an increased understanding of scientific data and a change in one’s priorities.

Using an interdisciplinary approach, an investigation of the use of an online environmental education platform and both public and educator engaged research will be analyzed. Educators, students, and the general population can participate in surveys on the website’s entry portal. A preliminary report of webpage user statistics will provide a representation of data for disseminating geoinformation through an online platform. The data can be used to help determine the best management and educational practices for a achieving a healthier environment.
