CURRENT STATUS OF SINOPROBE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Funded by Chinese government, SinoProbe project intend to reveal the deep geological structure of China to provide a strong basis for explorations of energy resources and forecasts of geologic natural disasters. Due to Chinese complex geological environment, existing geophysical algorithms may need to be modified to adapt to various new geological conditions. And it is essential to join multiple geophysical exploration methods to improve the accuracy of detection. Processing and interpretation of geophysical data are inseparable from computer software, advanced geophysical software are equipped with sophisticated relevant functionalities. But mostly they are designed for only one exploration method. This is a problem for SinoProbe project because of its needs for the interpretation of multivariate geophysical data. Moreover, the algorithms provided by existing software are not completely suitable for SinoProbe. To solve these problems, one task of SinoProbe is to establish a suitable software system for the project. The R & D strategy we adopt include the two ways. In the first way, in order to take full advantage of existing software, like sophisticated management and display technique of geophysical data, we choose a cross-software-platform development pattern to integrate our improved algorithms into a series of advanced geophysical software as plugins. Our ultimate goal is to provide a complete toolbox of SinoProbe which could be running on multiple geophysical software platforms. As for the second way, we intend to design a platform for the interpretation of multivariate geophysical data and also a series of geophysical fundamental software. In the following, we will give a brief introduction about current development state of SinoProbe software.
