HAINES, Forest, Earth Science, Adrian College, 101 S. Madison St, Adrian, MI 49221, fhaines@adrian.edu

Three ocherous cycles above the silty Rosalea unit of Fern Glen were traced from Bowden West Virginia thru House Springs, MO to Cadomin Alberta. At Cadomin cycle 1 is 12" thick, cycle 2 8", and cycle 3- 4". At House Springs cycle is 11", cycle 2-10" cycle 3- 4". At Bouden cycle 1 is 2'6", cycle 2 is 15", and cycle 3 is 15". At the top and base of each cycle is a thin white marker. Between the ocherous beds are black silty beds from a glacial period.

Fossiliferous ocherous beds were formed during warm reducing periods. Shorter cycles (4"'s) are present thoughout all.
