As the geoscience education community works to implement the vision of science education in the Framework for K-12 Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), many examples have emerged of ways in which challenges can be turned into positive opportunities through thoughtful partnerships and professional networking. This presentation will share some of those examples that extend from a community meeting that was convened in the spring of 2015 to support NGSS implementation, and explore upcoming programming being planned. The networking that was initiated at that meeting has led to an array of activities, including webinars, conference presentations, and resource development. Features of those activities demonstrate important dimensions of collaboration that are called for in efforts to support substantive and complex community change.
