We are compiling and reassessing old and new data on sand resources in the Outer Continental Shelf area of South Carolina. The goal of this project is to collect and organize all known data into a spatial database that can be evaluated for data gaps, so that future data collection can be directed towards areas needing information of any particular type. A second goal is to construct beach nourishment timelines, both historical and anticipated, for South Carolina beach communities. We will synthesize these two datasets to identify areas most suitable for new data collection.
