Due to the complicated controlling factors of stratigraphic reservoirs in the south slope of Dongying depression, there are no applicable key techniques for quantitative evaluation of stratigraphic traps. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a method. Based on the previous researches and typical reservoir analysis, it is found that the main controlling factors of the effectiveness of stratigraphic reservoirs in the south slope of Dongying depression are reservoir rock and cap rock distribution and shut off capacity of roof and underlier. According to the statistical analysis of the relationship between lithology and velocity, acoustic impedance and SP, combined the unconformity stratigraphic architecture, we optimized colored inversion method to characterize reservoir rock and cap rock; the distribution prediction of reservoir rock and cap rock by time window-varying extraction technique using inversion data was accomplished; considering the prediction results, the effective stratigraphic traps distribution was predicted by density projection; the breakthrough pressure was used to evaluate the shut off capacity of cap rock. The related theory and technical methods was applied to quantitative evaluate effectiveness of stratigraphic traps in Caoqiao area of south slope of Dongying depression, the prediction results accorded with the actual exploration situation, which indicated a high reliability of the method to quantitative characterizing the effectiveness of stratigraphic traps combined seismic and geological data.
