AGU offers a variety of mentoring programs at its Fall Meeting each year. Now in its third year, the Undergraduate Mentoring Program provides one-on-one mentoring support for undergraduate students during the entire week of the fall meeting. The Career and Research Advice Mentorship (CRAM) sessions allows students and early career scientists to sign up for 20-minute sessions with seasoned scientists akin to office hours with a faculty. The Sharing Science mentoring program provides in-meeting guidance to graduate students who are interested in science communication. A fourth program, called Mentoring 365, will pilot this fall and offer virtual mentoring opportunities outside of the AGU Fall meeting.

To date nearly 200 students have participated in these programs. Post-mentoring program surveys indicate a high satisfaction rate for both mentors and mentees. Several mentors have continued to serve in their capacity multiple times and mentees have noted that having a mentor helped them navigate the meeting in addition to receiving timely and relevant advice. This presentation will highlight the impact of AGU’s mentoring programs.
