ADVANCED STUDY OF SEISMIC AND WELL LOGS IN THE HYDROCARBON PROSPECTIVITY OF SIRAM FIELD, NIGER DELTA BASIN

Siram field located in the offshore depobelt in the western Niger Delta Basin was evaluated using well logs and 3D-Seismic data. The aim of this study was to evaluate the hydrocarbon viability of the field and the objective is to identify potential prospects and possible leads. These were accomplished by carrying out comprehensive well log and advanced seismic interpretation integrated with sequence stratigraphy. Results show that three major faults and four minor faults were identified and noted to serve as both traps and migration pathway. Seismic to well tie revealed three prospective zones which were mapped and converted into depth maps with names; Agbada Top-1, Agbada Top-2, and Agbada Top-3. One prospect, three targets, and a lead were identified. The result of the sequence stratigraphy shows that the prospective sands are within the Eocene Agbada Formation, with the Paleocene Akata Formation serving as the source. The interbedded Agbada clay stones, however, were noted to act as the seal to the identified reservoirs. The petrophysical parameter of the reservoirs ranges from 25.0% to 25.4% porosity, 69.2md to 169.0md permeability, Net to Gross ratio of 51.7% to 63.0% and hydrocarbon saturation of 54.8% to 78.3% indicating excellent hydrocarbon environmen
