A SCIENTIFICALLY DIRECTED RECONSTRUCTION OF THE LARGE DEVONIAN PREDATORY FISH HYNERIA LINDAE
In 2018 a new reconstruction of Hyneria lindae was undertaken for use as an illustration to accompany an article on the advancements of the understanding of the skeleton of this Devonian fish. The artist and the museum The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University took the opportunity to record the process.
That process is presented here showing scientific direction by Dr. Jason Downs and Dr. Theodore Daeschler in offices at the Academy of Natural Sciences. And studio work in the artist and speaker’s home studio in Philadelphia.
This process highlights new thoughts on the reconstruction of an ancient predatory fish.
