PARAMETERS FOR ESTABLISHING AND DEVELOPING A QUARRY

Quarry development involves extensive searching using a variety of parameters to establish sites for aggregate extraction. Parameters include overburden thickness, rock quality, rock type, market area, accessibility, state/county/city regulatory guidelines along with possible Federal restrictions, extent of reserves, processing/marketing potential. The parameters for site selection along with investment costs for development of aggregate production locations require careful planning and consideration of business and geological concerns.
