PUBLIC DATA DISSEMINATION: A CASE STUDY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE GROUNDWATER LEVEL DATA SYSTEM AND OBSERVATION COMMUNICATION
The New Hampshire Geological Survey (NHGS) has been measuring water levels in a statewide network of groundwater monitoring wells for the past 20 years. NHGS constructed a multi-tier data dissemination system in an effort to better manage these data and inform the New Hampshire Drought Management Team, town officials and the public. The data system employed is a common off-the-shelf (COTS) approach with open code. Development was driven by the need for quick deployment with a limited budget. This talk will discuss the data system components and how users can interact with these data.
