Previous studies on intracratonic strike-slip faults put the most attention on these lying in the northern part in the central Tarim Basin. However, little effort has been taken to the southern one, which has different tectonic setting than before accordingly with remote stress. And the high-quality three dimension seismic volumes collected by Traim oil field are used to character the fault zones in the southern one.In addition .the environment in the geological process the beds formed around the fault zones this study does can be the margin of carbonate platform which differ highly from others recently studied.Unlike the previous ,the faults within research area are northern tip part of the whole fault zones in the central of Tarim Basin, which is not easy to be functional by other faults nearby. The processed seismic data were loaded into Landmark OpenWorks and paradigm or petrel . The interpretation of faults is taken on seismic sections normal to the faults with even more closed space than ever before . the configuration of faults and their patterns can be revealed by extracting various layer interfaces ,featuring strong amplitude reflection, curvature and dip attributes or coherence slice respectively, like the upper parallel divergent strike-slip faults .due to the limitation of seismic resolution, for example, they on To3 curvature surface look like the whole continuous linear extension, which reveals three almost parallel subvertical convergent strike-slip faults. As a matter of fact, they are composed of all kinds of faults in lower magnitude. Thus the detailed interpretation on cross sections is extremely necessity and instrumental to faults characteristics as required . thus that on constant time slice does. The cross section paralleling the subvertical convergent strike-slip faults can be regard as criteria of stratigraphy without any faults or structures and almost all stratigraphy are incline to north consistently with nearly constant angle. In addition, the offset between the same stratigraphy from dense cross profiles and time slices and the length in the faults from cross profiles change regularly ,which indicate a small fault. According to the ratio of the length to width in axes and the maximal offset in every small fault ,and relative position among faults in space ,the order of faults growth can be roughly be determined. by 3D geological modelling, how every faults extend themselves from dip and strike can easily be exhibited. The most importantly , the fault growth in geological process are critical and superior goal.
