It was Saturday, October 7th, 2017, and I was picking John up at the Holiday Inn Express in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He got into the 4Runner with a question: “Do I have to be concerned about appropriateness?” John was about to officiate my wedding. What follows is a trip down a road - kind of long and definitely strange.
