A REFERENCE COLLECTION OF DEVONIAN CNIDARIA AND BRYOZOA FROM THE GEER ROAD QUARRY IN EATON, NEW YORK
We constructed a reference collection of Middle Devonian cnidarians and bryozoans from specimens collected at the Geer Road Quarry in Madison County near the town of Eaton, New York. The collection showcases three varieties of corals and three varieties of bryozoans found in Upper Hamilton Group shales. When enough morphologic detail was present, each specimen in the collection was identified to genus level; otherwise broader classification categories were used. The purpose of this reference collection is to assist the many local students and amateur collectors with specimen identification and further their interest in Devonian paleontology and the fossil assemblage at the Geer Road Quarry.
