A FIRST REPORT OF AN OSHUNIA FISH FROM THE LAGGERSTATTE OF HAQIL LEBANON

TAMARI, Ludwig and MCKENZIE, Scott C., Department of Geology, Mercyhurst University, 501 East 38 Street, Erie, PA 16546

For over 2,400 years, fossils from several sites in Lebanon have been traded internationally. To date over five hundred species of fish, flying reptiles, turtles, birds and marine invertebrates including crustaceans, horseshoe crabs, mollusks and others have been described. Several examples of an Oshunia fish have been found but they are undescribed. Our purpose here is to announce their discovery.
