THE DESKBOUND GEOLOGIST: COPING IN A GLOBAL PANDEMIC?

MORGAN, Ryan F., Department of Chemistry, Geosciences, & Physics, Tarleton State University, Box T-0540, Stephenville, TX 76402

Geology and its related disciplines are classically portrayed as a hands-on, field work intensive studies, focusing on applying the tools learned in the classroom and the lab. With the onset of COVID-19 as a global pandemic, field experiences were cancelled, and normally active students and faculty were sequestered to their offices and homes. Here we explore some of the ways that there populations have coped, thrived, and survived, while staying active in their field.
