ALLIANCE FOR CLIMATE EDUCATION: EDUCATING YOUTH ABOUT THE CLIMATE CRISIS AND EMPOWERING THEM TO ACT

ANDERSON, Rebecca, Alliance for Climate Education, 4676 Broadway St., Boulder, CO 80304

The Alliance for Climate Education (ACE) educates young people about the climate crisis and empowers them to take action. Founded in 2008, ACE has reached over 3 million students with our programs, tracked over 1 million actions taken by youth, and trained over 4,000 young climate leaders. ACE recognizes that we are in our final decade to solve the climate crisis. As such, this moment requires bold action driven by millions of young people collectively calling for climate justice at the scale and urgency that science requires.

ACE works to mobilize a new generation of young people in civic and climate advocacy to:

  • Increase diverse youth participation in our democracy,
  • End the era of fossil fuels,
  • Empower the collective creativity of young people to create a new and visionary narrative for our future, and
  • Hold elected leaders accountable for making that vision a reality.

Education is the foundation of ACE's theory of change and a critical tool for organizing youth to transform knowledge into action. Through ACE's education and storytelling programs, we give young people the knowledge, skills, and resources to become climate leaders.
