The protection of minors in higher education is a new and emerging field. Protecting minors in a higher education setting is a complicated responsibility. From challenging administrators to helicopter parents, directors must manage a multitude of responsibilities. This presentation aims to equip participants with resources to implement compliance initiatives and strategies to prevent abuse related to youth programming in higher education.

The goals for the audience are as follows:

Define a protection of minors program in higher education

Assess organizational readiness to start a protection of minors program

Implement and maintain a protection of minors program

Learn and utilize best practice strategies from an established youth protection program
