2024 PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS | GARNET VS. LAWSONITE

In the spirit of the Mineral Cup online competition that occurs every year in September, I will champion two extraordinarily interesting, useful, and beautiful minerals: garnet and lawsonite. For both minerals, I will present examples from my own research and from the work of others, and I will conclude the talk with voting by the audience. Although garnet is heavily favored to win, underdog lawsonite should not be underestimated.
