MSA'S PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR EARLY CAREER SCIENTISTS

BENBOW, Ann, Mineralogical Society of America, 3635 Concorde Parkway, Suite 500, Chantilly, VA 20151

The Mineralogical Society of America (MSA) is a 105-year-old scientific society of approximately 1,700 members. While MSA’s mission is to promote the study of mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, and crystallography to all, in recent years the organization has taken steps to meet the needs of its Early Career Members. There is now an Early Career Committee and Student Chapters are being planned. MSA has both Early Career and Student membership categories at reduced rates from regular Membership. Early Career Members receive Elements magazine six times a year, online access to American Mineralogist, are listed in the Member Directory if they wish, and get discounts on MSA’s publications and Short Course registrations. MSA is planning new programs for its Early Career members and will be able to release details about those in the coming months.
