Effective implementation of geologic carbon storage relies critically on accurate site characterization to assess subsurface conditions and suitability for long-term CO2 storage. Here we present SMARTseis – a site characterization tool designed specifically for geologic carbon storage applications. This tool utilizes both active and passive seismic data and methods to characterize geological structures of the carbon storage sites. Key features provided by this tool include seismic history and risk, delineation of faults and fractures, monitoring of the fault state. The tool is user friendly, highly interactive, and adaptable to various geological settings. By enhancing the understanding of the subsurface structures, this tool facilitates informed decision-making in site selection and risk assessment for geologic carbon storage projects.
