THE EFFECT OF AQUITARD CONTROL ON A DIVERGENT TRACER TEST

BIAN, Aiguo, Geology and Geophysics, Texas A&M Univ, MS 3115, college station, TX 77843, baguo@tamu.edu

The role of aquitard control on solute transport can be very important. Tracer test is commonly used for aquifer characterization, but few researches take into account of the effect of aquitard. This paper presents an analytical solution in Laplace Domain for a single well, divergent radial flow tracer test. The effect of aquitard control on solute transport is investigated for different input scenarios: 1) constant concentration input model; 2) step concentration input model; and 3) top-hat concentration input model.
