CLIMATE CHANGE CONSEQUENCES AND RESPONSE STRATEGIES
This talk will briefly survey the current state of knowledge concerning ongoing and potential climate change impacts, drawing heavily from the U.S. Global Change Research Program’s recently released report Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States. It will also address key aspects of the scientific basis for both mitigation, including “clean coal” technologies, as well as adaptation. The talk will conclude with an overview of major physical and social science questions that exist across a spectrum of time and space scales that should be addressed to better inform mitigation decisions.
