TEACHING STRUCTURAL GEOLOGY LAB TO A TOTALLY BLIND STUDENT

Techniques in teaching structural geology lab to a totally blind student during face-to-face weekly ‘hands-on’ sessions will be discussed. The focus will be on the use of specific rock samples, rock cores, relief maps, clay models, diagrams and graphs created using a heat pen with swell paper, as well as stereonet basics using a basketball. Additionally, apprenticeships involving field and museum projects on Pleistocene fauna will be presented.
