The Genevieve Lykes Duncan site sits at the confluence of Terlingua Creek and a major tributary which have different bedrock sources. Since both of these streams have contributed to the alluvial deposits found within the Lykes-Duncan site it would be beneficial to determine if each stream is geologically distinctive. This paper will investigate whether the bed load gravels of Terlingua Creek and Davenport Draw are unique. If so, then that information will be used to compare the bed load lithologies of the two streams to the channel gravels found within the site context. Comparison of the gravels should facilitate understanding of formation processes and paleoenvironmental sediment sources for the Lykes-Duncan site.
